Jaaskelainen won’t sulk on the West Ham sidelines

Standard Sport6 March 2014

Jussi Jaaskelainen does not feel any bitterness towards Adrian despite the Spaniard taking his place in the West Ham team.

The Finn started the campaign as first-choice goalkeeper but his last Premier League game was against Fulham on New Year’s Day.

Jaaskelainen told the club’s website: “I’ve been fortunate enough to play for many years in the Premier League and at the start of this season, so when you lose your place there is no point sulking.

“I am just trying to work as hard as I can and to support Adrian in every possible way. It’s about how we finish the season as a team, not as individuals.”
