Granit Xhaka was left almost speechless after visiting the Emirates Stadium on his first day as an Arsenal player, labelling the Gunners' north London home as "amazing".

The 23-year-old met Arsenal club staff and was taken on a tour of the stadium on Monday as pre-season kicked off for the Gunners.

Xhaka, who became Arsene Wenger's first signing of the summer when he completed a £34million move to the club from Borussia Monchengladbach in May, posed for pictures with staff before being taken out to see the view of the Emirates Stadium.

"It's amazing - I love it," a smiling Xhaka said as he looked out on the pitch he will play on next season.

The midfielder will shortly begin preparations for the upcoming Premier League campaign after spending the summer at the European Championships with his nation Switzerland.

The 23-year-old missed a penalty in his side's shootout loss to Poland in the last 16, which resulted in Switzerland's elimination from the tournament, but vowed to return stronger following his disappointment in France.
