England vs Netherlands: How big is the Nations League? Standard Sport podcast

PA
Standard Sport3 June 2019

After two all English European finals the attention now turns to the national team as England take on the Netherlands in the semi-final of the inaugural Nations League.

Gareth Southgate's Three Lions topped a group containing Spain and Croatia and sealed their place in the finals in Portugal with that dramatic win over the latter at Wembley Stadium last year.

With Liverpool and Tottenham players not arriving until Tuesday before England take on Ronald Koeman's side on Thursday, there is plenty to ponder for the manager.

Jack Rosser and Standard Sport's chief football correspondent James Olley sit down to pick apart England's approach to the tournament, the squad Southgate has named and where being the first team to win this trophy will rank in the nation's history.

Furthermore you will hear from England and Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson on his time in the England squad, before discussion turns to exactly how successful the first cycle of Uefa's attempt at reviving international football has been.

Standard Sport will have LIVE coverage of all three Nations League matches from Portugal.
