Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is set to face a spell on the sidelines as the injury crisis worsened at Old Trafford.

The England international suffered a groin injury during the 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "We've got to scan him tomorrow, he felt his groin, so he'll probably out for a little while."

Rashford is sixth Man Utd player currently sidelined, with Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba. Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are all out.

His absence would be a blow to United boss Solskjaer, who did not have another senior striker in his squad, and possibly to England ahead of next month's Euro 2020 qualifiers.

United’s striking options were already depleted with the club allowing Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to join Inter Milan.

But Solskjaer is hopefully that Greenwood and Martial will be in contention for the forthcoming League Cup tie with Rochdale.

"I reckon Mason and Anthony won’t be too far away and have at least Mason ready to Wednesday but let’s see," Solskjaer added.
