Theo Walcott joined his Arsenal team-mates for full training on Monday but his participation in Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Ludogorets Razgrad remains in doubt.
The England international started Monday morning’s training session working on his own but subsequently prepared alongside the rest of the squad as he continues his recovery from the hamstring injury that ruled him out of Saturday’s 4-1 win over Sunderland.
Even if Walcott does prove his fitness Arsene Wenger may consider resting his wide forward with Sunday’s North London derby in mind.
Neither Nacho Monreal nor Santi Cazorla trained and the pair are not expected to consider for Tuesday’s game.
Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey was training the first team after playing his first minutes since August as a substitute on Saturday whilst youngsters Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Chris Willock joined Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Alex Iwobi.
Wenger has admitted he has one eye on the visit of Tottenham to the Emirates ahead of Tuesday’s game. On whether Ramsey would participate he said: “I will have to analyse all that now, with [Granit] Xhaka back [after a three-match domestic suspension]. We play now in the Champions League and then we play Tottenham.
“So I have to see who I rest and who I play without diminishing the chance of the team to win the game.”
