Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores has admitted that he does not want to imitate Sir Alex Ferguson after Troy Deeney likened the Spaniard to the Manchester United legend.
The Hornets moved up to ninth place in the Premier League table courtesy of a 2-0 victory over West Ham on Saturday, which ended the east Londoners' superb away record.
Sanchez's influence at Vicarage Road has grown since the club's promotion to the top-flight and captain Deeney was full of praise for his manager's attention to detail after the win over Slaven Bilic's side.
"Quique knows everything. He has eyes everywhere at the training ground. There's a bit of Alex Ferguson about him.
"He knows where you've been and if the lads have been in the cake shop!
"He is very much about how you work Monday to Friday. If I score on a Saturday but have a terrible week in training you can guarantee being on the bench on Saturday."
But when Deeney's comparison was but to Flores he dismissed the suggestion that he wants to copy Ferguson and is keen to forge his own reputation instead.
"I don't want to imitate anyone – especially Alex Ferguson, who I have amazing respect for because of the history he has in English football.
"I just want to be happy when I am working every day."
Watford face high-flying Leicester City next week when they will have an opportunity to solidify their place in the top half of the Premier League table.
