Hugo Lloris determined to achieve 'great things' with Tottenham after signing new long-term deal

Hugo Lloris says he is determined to achieve "great things" at Tottenham after signing a new-long term contract at White Hart Lane.

The France goalkeeper, who joined Spurs from Lyon in 2012, has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2022.

Lloris says Spurs have already started to close the gap to the Premier League's elite and is focused on delivering success under Mauricio Pochettino.

"It's never enough for me - I always want more and I'm going to try and push those around me and try to achieve great things for this club," Lloris told the club's official Facebook page.

"I try to be professional and give my best every game. That's my motivation every day.

"I think when I decided to come to the club my motivation was to win the respect of the Spurs fans and try to make a proper name [for myself]."

Lloris has certainly achieved that, having established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers in recent years.

The 29-year-old's future has been a constant source of speculation throughout the season but his decision to follow the nucleus of Pochettino's squad and sign fresh terms is welcome news for Spurs fans.

"It's a great feeling to be the captain. I think I can be proud of that. I'm really pleased with that but I want more and hopefully the best years are ahead," Lloris added.

Lloris has kept six clean sheets in 15 Premier League appearances this season, conceding just 11 goals in the process.
