Manchester United have seemingly revealed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will join the club in the coming days after putting a shirt bearing his name up for sale in the club shop.
Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted earlier this week that the attacking midfielder could be set to depart the Bundesliga after a “much improved offer” for the 27-year-old, reported to be £26million.
Mkhitaryan’s contract at the Signal Iduna Park was set to expire in next summer and Arsenal were among the clubs monitoring the midfielder, who now seems set to follow Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Jose Mourinho plots an overhaul of his side.
Man United can officially sign Mkhitaryan from Friday July 1 but their club shop appears to have got carried away, carrying versions of the away kit bearing their prospective signings name at a cost of £71.95.
Mino Raiola, Mkhitaryan’s agent, confirmed earlier in June that his client was keen to move to Old Trafford, adding that he was “still trying to resolve the situation”. Dortmund had considered holding firm and forcing their No10 to see out the final 12 months of his contract, but their stance appears to have softened after United’s improved bid.
Mkhitaryan scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists for the Bundesliga side last season.
Earlier on Thursday Ibrahimovic, 34, brought ongoing rumours about his future to an end by announcing he would be joining up with his former manager at Old Trafford.

The club are yet to comment on deals for either Ibrahimovic or Mkhitaryan.
