Harry Kane misses start of Tottenham pre-season after quarantine rules change

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has missed the start of the club's pre-season due to quarantine rules following his return from holiday.

As first reported by the Daily Mail, the England captain flew to the Bahamas at the end of July for a family holiday following the conclusion of the Premier League season.

The country was on the UK's quarantine exemption list when Kane and family arrived but that changed on August 8 and the 27-year-old was duly forced to self-isolate for 14 days upon his return to England.

Spurs began pre-season last week, but Kane has not yet joined up due to finishing his period of quarantine.

The striker’s absence should not disrupt Jose Mourinho’s plans too much, with Tottenham taking on Ipswich Town in a friendly on Saturday.

Spurs welcome Reading to their stadium on August 28 and then Birmingham City the following day.

The club on Friday announced they will face Watford at Vicarage Road on September 5.
