Harry Kane insists that he plans to stay at Tottenham for a ‘very long time’ amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United this summer.

The 21-year-old has grasped his opportunity in the Spurs first team with both hands this season, becoming the first player to break the 30 goals barrier in a season since the days of Gary Lineker.

His club form has seen Kane make his senior England debut, and score inside 80 seconds of doing so, and be named as the PFA’s Young Player of the Year.

Such has been his rise this season, talk of interest from Tottenham’s Premier League rivals has grown, with Manchester United and Louis van Gaal believed to be admirers of the young forward.

But amid talk of a £45 million bid arriving from Old Trafford, one which Standard Sport understands Tottenham would flat-out reject such is their desire to keep hold of Kane, the striker insists that he plans to stay at the club for many years to come.

“Spurs is where I’m at and where I plan to be for a very long time,” he told BT Sport.

“We’ll be looking to win some good trophies in the future. I want to keep progressing and keep getting better.

“This season has been crazy and more than what I ever expected to do so early on but it’s happened, and it’s how you deal with it.”

“I am hoping to go on and win many trophies for Spurs and England. That’s always been the aim since I was a kid, dreaming of lifting the trophy one day for them. I want to be the player that does everything he can to reach his ability and I’ll keep working hard. I want to win trophies.”

Harry Kane was speaking ahead of his appearance on the new series of The Clare Balding Show. To see the full interview watch BT Sport 1 from 8:00pm Thursday or on BBC Two at 10:00pm on Thursday.
