Swansea turned up the heat on Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew as Fernando Llorente's injury-time double secured a 5-4 victory over the Eagles on Saturday.

Palace had trailed 3-1 with less than 20 minutes to go but fought back to lead in a remarkable nine-minute spell.

However, Llorente's late double consigned the Eagles to a sixth straight defeat and left them hovering precariously above the drop zone on goal difference following a calamitous display of defending from both sides.

Pardew's men went into the game having already conceded a top flight high nine goals from set pieces and a further four were added to that tally by bottom side Swansea, who celebrated their first win since the opening day on the final whistle.

"I can’t defend my defenders today sadly, they need to do better than they have," said the Palace boss at full-time before promising to get his players in and working ahead of Southampton's visit next weekend.

But frustration reached boiling point on social media following a sorry run for the Eagles as fans called for chairman Steve Parish to act.
