England's new manager Gareth Southgate has come a long way since 1996.
The former defender experienced a career low of missing a vital Wembley penalty to see hosts England knocked out of Euro '96 by Germany - and pizza was a particularly cheesy form of penitence.
Southgate sought to get over the miss by getting involved in Pizza Hut's advertising campaign after the tournament, wearing a now-famous paper bag over his head at dinner with fellow England penalty failures Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle.
Waddle and Pearce - whose misses at the 1990 World Cup cost England against West Germany - are the ones ribbing the incognito Southgate, with Pearce cajoling his team-mate by suggesting that it only took him six years to get over his own miss.

Southgate ends the ad by scrunching up the paper bag and banishing his demons, saying: "Thanks a lot boys, I feel much better now!"
The new Three Lions boss duly walks into a wall. Not a great look, but 20 years on, Southgate is in charge of England's 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
