Game called off as fan attacks Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba was attacked by a supporter during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Senegal and Ivory Coast in Dakar on Saturday.

The former Chelsea striker had just scored when a fan ran onto the pitch and had to be restrained.

The incident sparked a riot and the match was abandoned with Ivory Coast 2-0 ahead after 76 minutes. Arsenal’s Gervinho and West Ham pair Guy Demel and Mohamed Diame escaped unhurt.
