Gabriel-Lucas Perez bust-up is 'already forgotten', says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger saw no cause for concern in the bust-up between Lucas Perez and Gabriel after full-time in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Brom.

Whilst most Arsenal players were celebrating a late victory at the Emirates that kept league leaders Chelsea just about in reach Gabriel and Lucas seemed to be engaged in a heated confrontation over the forward’s failure to track back in the closing minutes.

It was a rare outbreak of infighting between Wenger’s players but the Arsenal manager insisted there was no cause for concern as the two “good friends” have already put the issue behind them.

"I don't know what it is about, I didn't see it as well," said Wenger.

"But they have the South American temper, you know and that can sometimes happen.

"I don't think that anything bad happened. They are two good friends, two very close to each other so that is already forgotten now."

Olivier Giroud scored the only goal for the Gunners, heading home Mesut Ozil’s 86th minute cross to secure a first win in three for Arsenal, who remain nine points off Chelsea.
