Fulham on the brink of Boateng deal

8 January 2013

Fulham are closing in on a deal for Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng.

Sources close to the Ghana squad, currently training in Abu Dhabi ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, suggest the 29-year-old has passed a medical and obtained a work permit for the Premier League.

Fulham manager Martin Jol came close to signing Boateng (above) last summer and must now agree a fee with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, who are thought to want around £2million for a player, who has made no secret of his disaffection with life in Ukraine. Boateng has also played for clubs in Greece, Crete, Israel, Germany and Spain.
