Former Crystal Palace and West Ham manager Alan Pardew is a leading contender to take over at West Brom.

Pardew has been out of a job since he was sacked by Palace last December but he is set to hold talks with Albion about replacing Tony Pulis.

The 56-year-old, who spent two years in charge at Palace and took the club to the FA Cup Final in 2015, has been working as a pundit but would be keen to return to management.

Pardew worked with West Brom technical director Nick Hammond when he was manager at Reading. Hammond is involved in the process of appointing a successor for Pulis, who was sacked on Monday.

West Brom, without a win in 10 matches stretching back to August, are targeting a manager with Premier League experience to guide them to safety. They are one place and one point above the relegation zone.

Gary Megson, assistant to Pulis before his dismissal, is in charge of the team ahead of their match against Tottenham on Saturday.
