Fergie moves for £16m Phil Jones

Phil Jones was today having a medical at Manchester United ahead of a £16million move from Blackburn.

United fought off competition from Liverpool for the defender, who links up with his England
Under-21s centre-back partner Chris Smalling.

First-choice Rio Ferdinand, 32, saw his season disrupted by injury but Nemanja Vidic, 29, is a certain starter.
