Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has supported Chelsea’s pursuit of his “good friend” Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian striker struggled to find his form at Manchester United, scoring just four times in 27 league games, but has emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea. Jose Mourinho has been open about his desire to show the Premier League the best of Falcao.

And he has the support of his goalkeeper, who was teammates with the 29-year-old during his loan spells at Atletico Madrid. At that time Falcao was the most feared striker in Europe, scoring a hat-trick in the Uefa Super Cup against the Blues, and Courtois backed the forward to return to his best form.

"I know Falcao very well," said Courtois. "He's a very good boy, he's a good friend of mine so, if he comes, great.

"It's the decision of the club but he would be a very good player for Chelsea."
