Everton vs Arsenal: I will do everything to take Toffees to glory, says Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has fired a warning at Everton's opponents today Arsenal after saying he is ready to do what it takes to steer the Toffees to glory this season.

Roberto Martinez's side currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League standings but, despite having won just one of their last 17 top-flight games against the Gunners, Everton remain unbeaten in their last three home clashes with Arsene Wenger's side.

One of the club's high points of the campaign came last weekend when Everton knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup thanks to two superb goals from Lukaku, who has now scored six goals in his last six games in all competitions for the Toffees.

The former Blues striker sits just one goal behind the league's joint-top scorers Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane and, with Arsenal visiting Goodison Park today, Lukaku admits he is focused on helping Everton improve their position in the top-flight standings.

"We have 10 more games to go and we are not at that point yet. We can turn it around and I will give everything to turn it around. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t care about the game against Chelsea," he told The Telegraph.

"I will do everything to take my team forward to glory. Now we are almost there. But in the league, we have to play better.

"The simple games we need to win – we draw or we lose. The difficult games we need to win – we win. Where’s the logic in that?

"“Look at the players we have. We have 10 games to go, the semi-final of the Cup, just go for it boys. We need to go and start winning games, because we cannot continue like we are.

"Everyone gives stick to the manager, but it is the players that do the job on the pitch. I am not the captain, I am not going to say do this, do that, I just try to lead by example, give my maximum, try to score as many goals as I can, then the rest goes from there."
