Euros Final spare ticket going after England rugby star Marcus Smith called up by Lions

England rugby star Marcus Smith is set to miss the Euro 2020 final after being called up by the British and Irish Lions for their tour of South Africa.

Smith, who kicked nine conversions in a thumping of Canada on Saturday, had a ticket for Sunday's Wembley showpiece.

However, that ticket it now going free after Smith's rugby heroics.

But he found out moments after coming off the field following the 70-14 win at Twickenham that he had been called up by the Lions as as injury cover for Finn Russell.

Smith was interviewed by former England rugby player Ugo Monye on Channel 4 after the Canada game.

He said, before predicting a 2-0 win for England: "I know we were meant to go but I think I'll be on a plane instead."

Smith, though, has described the Lions call-up as a "dream come true".

He added: "I can'€t believe it - I got told about 10 minutes ago. Eddie (Jones) told me it's a special thing.

"I'€m still shaking. I'€s amazing. It will be special, a dream come true for sure if I get the opportunity.

“I don'€t think it will sink in until I get back from the Lions, I'€ll have to pinch myself on the plane."
