2015 saw the Premier League spend a whopping £1 billion for the first time in the competition’s history, with £870m having been spent in the summer window.

Will that the transfer totalizer be toppled? Only time will tell, as the first window of 2016 sparks into life.

The January transfer window opens on January 2nd for the Premier League sides, and closes on February 1st.

All relatively straightforward, and predictable. But what about the other major European countries?
