Marcel Desailly believes Chelsea will be watching Antonio Conte's exploits with Italy at Euro 2016 carefully as the Blues prepare to welcome the 46-year-old to the club in July.

Conte will lead Italy out for the nation's first Euro 2016 game tonight when the Azzurri play Belgium - a side containing Chelsea players Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard - in Lyon.

The Italy manager has agreed a three-year deal to become the new manager at Stamford Bridge next season, and will begin work at Chelsea once Italy's endeavours in France end.

And Desailly believes all eyes will be on Conte as Chelsea try and get a taster of what to expect from the Italian when he arrives at the club this summer.

"For sure, we are looking at him. We'll have an eye on him to see his movements, his attitude whether he'll come back as a winner of the Euros," Desailly said.

"We also wonder if he has time to build up the team that will suit his philosophy because you need to get four or five players in your squad.

"We hope Italy will get out of the tournament quickly so he can focus on Chelsea!"
