After a lively start from the hosts, Roy Hodgson's side took the lead within just three minutes when Jack Wilshere, Raheem Sterling and Dele Alli combined to set up Harry Kane, whose crisp, low finish flew past Volkan Babacan and into the back of the net.

Turkey, though, remained positive despite the fact they had never scored against England before the game, and responded immediately as they regained possession and began carving out chances of their own.
It ended in Hakan Calhanoglu equalising in the 13th minute to bring the visitors back into the match while creating history as it was the nation's first-ever goal against the Three Lions.
Roy Hodgson decided to switch Jamie Vardy from his starting position on the right to a more central place, and there the Leicester City striker flourished.
Indeed, it was his run into the area which won England a penalty in the second half, although Kane sent the spot-kick wide.

But when Gary Cahill's header from a corner kick forced Babacan into a save, Vardy managed to latch onto the loose ball and fire in the winner in the 83rd minute to give the hosts a positive 2-1 victory.
