As Diego Costa faces an anxious wait to find out whether he will face any action for his protestations over his red card against Everton, Standard Sport takes a look at the Chelsea striker's disciplinary record in England this season.
The striker was sent off for the first time in his Chelsea career on Saturday after being shown two yellow cards for two fouls on Everton midfielder Gareth Barry in the FA Cup loss at Goodison Park.
Costa now has until Thursday to respond to the FA's charge of improper conduct for the way he reacted to Michael Oliver dismissing him from the game, while he must also give his observations to the governing body about a separate alleged incident, in which he is claimed to have made a gesture towards Everton fans as he exited the pitch at half time.
Despite having a reputation that precedes him, the red card against Everton was Costa's first in the Premier League although he has been banned twice, both retrospectively, by the FA for incidents that were initially missed during games against Arsenal earlier this season and against Liverpool last year.
