Deadly Kevin Davies is giving Bruce nightmares

Steve Bruce says Sunderland must stop Bolton striker Kevin Davies at the Stadium of Light tonight if they are to avoid sinking into more trouble.

A run of 14 League games without a win has left Bruce's men three points above the drop zone as they prepare to face a team boosted by their Davies-inspired win at West Ham.

"Davies is very clever and very, very good at what he does," said Bruce.

"He has been Bolton's talisman for years and I would love to see their results when he is not playing. He was their star man again on Saturday and is paramount to what they do."
