David Moyes says no one at West Ham deserves to be booed after small sections of the crowd voiced their displeasure at Wednesday's draw with Brighton.
The Hammers looked set to get back to winning ways until Neal Maupay's acrobatic 89th minute goal salvaged a deserved point for the Seagulls.
West Ham are without a win in three in the Premier League and have not been able to reach the level which saw them beat Liverpool to go third before the November international break, though they remain fourth in the table.
Asked about the boos at full-time on Wednesday, Moyes said: "I think really, expectations have risen.
"There's also got to be part of that where you say, 'Wait a minute here, you're team is doing really well. Don't be so stupid'. There's not a person at this club who deserved a boo. Not one person, because of what they've done at the club."
West Ham host London rivals Chelsea on Saturday and after Watford tested the Premier League leaders in midweek, Moyes has vowed to take on Thomas Tuchel's side in similar fashion.
"I think the Wednesday game was a tough game for everybody," Moyes said.
"I think for the midweek fixture, Thomas Tuchel made five or six changes. He changed the team around a lot. A lot of clubs probably looked to do it because of the amount of games coming up.
" Also when you have a squad of players you have to keep your squad a part of it.
"I would probably expect Chelsea’s team to be close to the teams they [usually] put out. Does it give us encouragement, how Watford played? It was good to see Watford have a good go and get close. We have to have a good go and hopefully get even closer."
