David Moyes is relishing the thrill of seeing West Ham compete in Europe after the draw for the Europa League was conducted on Friday.

The Hammers have made the group stage for the first time in their history after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.

West Ham players and staff gathered at the club's Rush Green training ground on Friday morning to watch the draw take place and Moyes cannot hide his excitement.

"I'm really excited," he said. "We watched the draw this morning to see it and watched the pots come out.

"The biggest thrill was to see West Ham in one of the pots, back in the Europe and hopefully we'll get the supporters to London Stadium for the games.

"The players earned it with their performances throughout the season, which rightly merited a place in European competition."

The Europa League ties begin next month but before then Moyes is keen to bolster his squad to face the challenge.

A deal for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, who has agreed personal terms after the two clubs settled on a £25million deal, is all but done, though Moyes does not want to stop there with a striker also on his shopping list.

"We’re looking at trying to add to the squad," said Moyes. "I believe that we will but ultimately I can’t promise it because sometimes these things just don’t happen. It is not all that easy getting these players over the line. Let’s hope we can."
