Wilfried Zaha has revealed that David Moyes stopped him from performing tricks during his spell in charge at Manchester United.

The 23-year-old joined the Red Devils from Crystal Palace in January 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson deemed him to be worthy of a £10m transfer fee.

Zaha remained in south London on loan until the end of the campaign but Ferguson had been replaced by Moyes once he joined up with United's first team.

The midfielder failed to secure regular first-team football under his new manager and played just 30 minutes of Premier League football before he was sent on loan to Cardiff City midway through his first season at United.

He eventually returned to Palace on a permanent basis in February and has admitted that he had to modify his game at the Theatre of Dreams to suit Moyes' style of play.

"Under David Moyes I had to adjust my game," he told Soccer AM.

"Certain managers want a trustworthy player, someone that will always keep the ball.

"But he was the only one who told me to stop some of the tricks and keep the ball in certain areas.

"So I tried to adjust my game then."

Moyes was sacked by United in April 2014 just 10 months into a six-year deal.
