David Luiz has described winning the Premier League as an “obsession” as Chelsea move closer to securing their sixth title.

Antonio Conte’s side are four points clear with as many games remaining and arguably have a more favourable run in than their rivals Tottenham, with only one of the Blues remaining fixtures against a side in the top half.

Luiz, who returned to Stamford Bridge from Paris St Germain at the start of this season, missed out on the Premier League during his initial three-and-a-half years in the Premier League.

He told FourFourTwo: “I had already won several titles with Chelsea, played my part in a beautiful period in the club's history and made so many friends.

“I thought it was time to move on, so I had no regrets. But things change quickly in football.

“Winning the Premier League has always been an obsession of mine. This is one of the toughest competitions in the world. We've worked hard to make this dream come true.”

The Blues can secure the title as early as May 12 if Tottenham lose at West Ham on Friday should they win their next two games.
