Former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu wants to manage a club in London when his contract at Dinamo Moscow expires next year.

The 46-year-old’s reputation as a coach has grown in recent years and he was a target for Crystal Palace after Ian Holloway left the club in October.

Standard Sport understands Palace did offer him the job at the time, only for Dinamo Moscow to block the move by demanding a vast sum in compensation.

Palace went on to appoint Tony Pulis instead but Petrescu, who played for Chelsea between 1995-2000, winning three major trophies, is still hoping to get a job in England, particularly in the capital where he enjoyed playing.
