Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis is 'praying' he can make some additions to his squad before the transfer window shuts at the the end of the month.

Pulis accepted the post at Selhurst Park with the promise of funds to bolster the squad, but a sense of unrest has developed because the Eagles have failed to make any new acquisitions nearly three weeks into the January window.

The 56-year-old said said: “We’re hoping and praying we can bring some players in. We really need to bring some players in and that will strengthen us. The lads are waiting for a few to come in and we’ll kick on from there.”

Palace moved off the bottom of the Premier League following their win over Stoke with Jason Puncheon scoring the only goal of the game just a week after his embarrassing penalty miss against Tottenham.

The Eagles are up to 16th in the table and yesterday’s win was their fourth in 10 games since Pulis took over as manager.
