Crystal Palace will step up their attempts to sign Yohan Cabaye after agreeing a club-record fee with Paris St Germain.

The deal could rise to more than £12 million with add-ons and Cabaye will now decide on a move to Selhurst Park.

Alan Pardew is likely to play a key role in persuading the France international to join Palace.

Cabaye and Pardew worked together at Newcastle and the 29-year-old is said to be open to the idea of being reunited with his former manager.

West Ham and Italian side Roma are also reported to have expressed an interest in the player.

Cabaye joined PSG from Newcastle for £19m in January 2014 but he started just 13 League games last season and wants to play regular football ahead of next summer’s European Championships in France.
