‘Costa and Fabregas could miss out if Mourinho goes on the offensive’ – Standard Sport previews Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea may seemingly be in the midst of a revival, but the attention ahead of the club's Premier League game with Bournemouth at the weekend will certainly be whether Diego Costa starts at Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho decided to omit the striker from his team that secured a goalless draw away to Tottenham on Sunday, and revealed after the match that Costa should feel privileged to be one of the last Chelsea players to find himself on the bench considering his below-par form this term.

With Eden Hazard leading the attacking line at White Hart Lane - and doing well - Mourinho could be tempted to stick with the Belgian up front instead of reintroducing Costa to the team, although the Brazilian is hardly likely to enjoy sitting on the bench - especially after he tossed his substitutes' bib in the direction of the Portuguese tactician on Sunday when he realised he wouldn't play.

While the issue of who to put up front will be one that Mourinho will have thought about in depth, the Chelsea boss will probably also want to see his team keep a clean sheet after having done so in the last three games.

Chelsea's defensive solidity will be welcome news for Mourinho, with his side having conceded no less than 23 goals prior to their win over Norwich - and the Blues will therefore feel confident going into their clash with relegation-threatened Bournemouth.
