Chelsea's versatile defender Kurt Zouma has revealed that his ambitions extend to winning world football's top individual accolade; the Fifa Ballon d'Or.

The 20 year-old who has been likened to former Blues defender Marcel Desailly after an impressive debut season at Stamford Bridge, admitted that he dreams of emulating the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi by earning the respected prize.

"Yes, [winning the Ballon d'Or] is a dream for me,” he told Canal +. “I am someone who dreams.”

He added: "People often compare me to Marcel Desailly, but he has made his career.

“This is a football legend. He played in a lot of big games. I have only just arrived and I still have a lot to prove. "

Zouma earned praise on Saturday after nullifying Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini in Chelsea's 1-0 win against the Red Devils.
