Chelsea vs Burnley: Eden Hazard injury makes life difficult for Antonio Conte

Danny Murphy11 August 2017

Eden Hazard's absence through injury may make life difficult for Chelsea in the early weeks of the season.

Hazard is a match winner whose skills are different from everyone else’s.

Luckily for Antonio Conte, he has Willian and Pedro to play wide in the 3-4-3, excellent players who understand his tactics perfectly.

The sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United has been questioned but I was more surprised to see Chelsea allow Ruben Loftus-Cheek join Crystal Palace.

They are not exactly blessed with numbers in central midfield and this was a season where I could see Loftus-Cheek playing a few chunks of games and starting to make a name for himself.

At 21, he is ready to push on and I believe that he could have done so at Chelsea.

'No sympathy'

"I'm not looking for sympathy of any coaches for this situation", said Conte. "This is my message.

"The situation is clear. If the club decide to send on loan players for their development it's because these players are not ready to play for Chelsea."
