Diego Costa was again forced to settle for a place among the substitutes as Jose Mourinho made two changes from the side that drew 0-0 at Tottenham.

Eden Hazard was asked to lead the line as Loic Remy returned to the matchday squad following injury.

The Blues also welcomed back goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to the starting XI as Asmir Begovic dropped to the bench.

Courtois hasn't featured for Chelsea since defeat at Stamford Bridge to Crystal Palace in August. The Belgium international picked up an injury in training following international duty in early September but returns behind a slightly altered back four.

Indeed, Branislav Ivanovic, Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill keep their places in defence, while Abdul Baba Rahman comes into the side in place of Cesar Azpilicueta.

Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic (c), Zouma, Cahill, Baba; Fabregas, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Pedro; Hazard.

Substitutes: Begovic, Azpilicueta, Mikel, Loftus-Cheek, Traore, Remy, Diego Costa

Bournemouth: Boruc, Daniels, Cook, Francis, Smith, Arter, Gosling, Surman, Ritchie, Stanislas, King.
