Chelsea will make another bid to sign Craig Gordon in the summer should Asmir Begovic leave as expected.

Begovic would have joined Bournemouth for £10million last month had Chelsea agreed a fee with Celtic for Gordon.

The deal for Begovic has only been postponed until the end of the campaign, though, with Bournemouth determined to buy the Bosnia international.

Chelsea will still have to find a replacement first and Gordon remains on their wish-list.

They had two offers rejected by Celtic in January, the first was worth £3m and the second £4m.

Celtic insisted Gordon was not for sale and coach Brendan Rodgers revealed they wanted him to sign a new contract instead. However, talks have stalled and further discussions have been put on hold until the summer.

It is believed Gordon remains interested in moving to Stamford Bridge, even though he will provide back-up to Thibaut Courtois, especially as the club can offer a much higher salary.
