Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi delaying decision over Stamford Bridge return after Dortmund scoring spree

Michy Batshuayi has yet to make any decisions on his Chelsea future as he continues to impress on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Batshuayi took his tally to five goals in just three appearances for the Bundesliga club by scoring twice in the 3-2 Europa League win over Atalanta on Thursday.

Dortmund have already confirmed that they will make Chelsea an offer in the summer after Batshuayi’s loan expires, while the Belgium striker’s performances have started to attract attention from other clubs across Europe.

The 24-year-old has started just four Premier League games for Chelsea since his £33.1million move from Marseille in 2016.

When asked about his plans, Batshuayi said: “I’m not thinking about that at all. For me, it’s important to perform well for Borussia Dortmund in every match. I’ll deal with the situation as it comes.

“I’m feeling very good at the moment and playing with a lot of confidence. It wasn’t always easy at Chelsea. Sitting on the bench, score a goal and then back to the bench is quite difficult to deal with for an attacker.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is expected to start against Hull in the FA Cup fifth-round tie at Stamford Bridge on Friday despite being rocked by the news that Tigers midfielder Ryan Mason had to quit playing this week.

The former Spurs player suffered a fractured skull when the duo accidentally clashed heads during a game between the two clubs 13 months ago.

Emerson Palmieri will make his debut tonight, while 17-year-old Ethan Ampadu is also set to be in the first XI. Fellow youngsters Dujon Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kyle Scott could also be in the squad as coach Antonio Conte rests players ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Barcelona.
