Chelsea star Diego Costa shows he is in fighting form for new season at Kuwaiti five-a-side tournament

No friendly: Costa did not lay off his opponents as he hit five goals

Diego Costa just does not know how to take a holiday. Whilst his colleagues have been enjoying beach breaks the Chelsea striker has been scoring more goals.

The 26-year-old has been in Kuwait for a five-a-side tournament that includes teams from Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Results Vitamin. The two English sides met today and there was no competition between Forest and Costa’s men.

The Spanish forward managed five of Chelsea’s goals in a 7-0 win, nutmegging the goalkeeper and barging over defenders as he failed to show his friendly side. Later in the day Costa took on opponents who seemed to be in sumo suits. As if they needed any more of a handicap against the star striker.

Costa showed no signs of the injuries that dogged the end of his season but whether manager Jose Mourinho supported his injury-plagued stars decision to not rest in the off-season is unclear.

Brazilian legend Falcao (not his new Chelsea teammate) was due to attend the competition but pulled out at the last minute, disappointing the Brazilian-born striker.

Costa told Globo Esporte: "I have the honour of meeting an idol, not only of mine but of every Brazilian.

"It was a pity, I came with a huge desire to play with the man, but it could not happen. He is recovering. It is a great pleasure."
