Chelsea Ladies started the defence of their Women's Super League title with a second 4-1 victory at Doncaster Rovers Belles in the space of five days on Thursday.

Having warmed up for their league opener with victory in the SSE Women's FA Cup on Sunday, the visitors enjoyed their second trip to south Yorkshire just as much in front of a crowd of 1,165 at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Karen Carney opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 12 minutes, confidently firing home after Millie Bright had been brought down on the left-hand side of the area by Leandra Little.

The home side were level just minutes later when Courtney Sweetman-Kirk's cross was diverted into her own net by Claire Rafferty, but Beth England put Chelsea back in front by heading home from a corner against her former club.

Katie Chapman also headed Chelsea's third from a corner just a minute before the interval and Eni Aluko sealed an emphatic win five minutes from full time.
