Chelsea have Wesley Fofana and N’Golo Kante back for interim head coach Bruno Saltor‘s first match in charge against Liverpool.

The former assistant to Graham Potter is at the helm having seen his long-time colleague from Brighton removed from his post on Sunday.

Fofana has been dealing with a tight hamstring, and withdrew from France duty ahead of the international break, but has recovered to start in a back three tonight. Kante meanwhile came off the bench against Villa and is now deemed fit enough to start.

Bruno has hinted that he will coach in a similar way to Potter: “It was a good performance [against Aston Villa]. We had a lot of chances and are going to try to keep as close as we can.”

Raheem Sterling and Edouard Mendy are back in the squad, but Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Armando Broja remain out. Mason Mount is on the bench against a side rumoured to be interested in signing him.

Starting XI: Kepa; Fofana, Koulibaly, Cucurella; James, Kante, Enzo, Kovacic, Chilwell; Havertz, Felix.

Subs: Mendy; Badiashile; Loftus-Cheek, Gallagher, Mount; Pulisic, Mudryk, Sterling, Madueke
