Chelsea line-up revealed for tonight’s Champions League clash

Kalidou Koulibaly starts for Chelsea tonight in a line-up devoid of Raheem Stelring, who misses the Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund with an injury.

The England international “took a kick” in training last week and missed his side’s final session before the flight to Germany, as Koulibaly overcomes illness to return alongside Mateo Kovacic, Wesley Fofana and Denis Zakaria.

That trio are all on the bench as N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy and Armando Broja continue their spell on the sidelines.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang misses out after being removed from Chelsea’s Champions League squad to fit in January signings Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez.

Noni Madueke, Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana were unable to be registered due to UEFA rules.

Academy talents Lewis Hall and Lucas Bergstrom were registered on the B-list and travelled in the 23-man squad that will play at the 81,000-seater Signal Iduna Park tonight.

Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have only returned in recent weeks and both join the Senegal international on the pitch.

Chelsea XI: Kepa; James, Silva, Koulibaly, Chilwell; Loftus-Cheek, Fernandez; Ziyech, Felix, Mudryk; Havertz.

Subs: Bettinelli, Bergstrom, Azpilicueta, Chalobah, W. Fofana, Cucurella, Hall, Chukwuemeka, Kovacic, Gallagher, Zakaria, Mount.
