Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has criticised the punishment handed to him by the Football Association this week after labelling his £50,000 fine a "disgrace" and his suspended stadium ban "astonishing" before seemingly launching another attack at Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger.

Mourinho was given a suspended one-match stadium ban and fined on Wednesday for comments he made about officials following Chelsea's 3-1 loss at home to Southampton before the international break.

The Portuguese tactician accepted a misconduct charge for the comments made in his post-match interview at Stamford Bridge, but Mourinho has now heavily criticised the FA for the punishment they subsequently handed to him.

Speaking at the launch of his new book MOURINHO at Waterstones Piccadilly, he said: "I'm happy that I don't have an electronic tag.

"£50,000 is a disgrace. The possibility of getting a stadium ban is astonishing."

The Chelsea boss then reignited his feud with Arsenal manager Wenger - although he did not explicitly name him - when Mourinho questioned why the Frenchman had escaped unpunished for calling referee Mike Dean "weak" following Arsenal's defeat to Chelsea last month.

"The difference between afraid and weak and naive is £10,000 and one-match stadium ban," Mourinho - who will be banned for one game if he speaks out of turn again in the next 12 months - said.

"Afraid costs £50,000. Weak and naive - you can do it."

In a clear reference to Wenger, Mourinho then brought up the incident involving the pair last year when the Gunners boss pushed the Chelsea manager in the Stamford Bridge technical area.

"We can push people in the technical area," he added.
