Fiorentina are close to resolving their dispute with Chelsea over the future of rebel Mohamed Salah.

The Italian side were furious after Salah, who joined them for the second half of the last campaign, refused to rejoin them on a season-long loan after they'd paid Chelsea the £700,000 clause written into the contract signed between the two clubs in January.

But Chelsea are going to repay the sum and will send another player on loan there instead.

Fiorentina director Andrea Rogg said: “The rapport between Fiorentina and Chelsea is excellent. There has been some contact between clubs.

“We want to emerge from this situation in an amicable manner. Chelsea have many interesting players and this could be the route we go down.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea have named Victor Moses in the squad leaving for their pre-season tour to North America today.

Moses is being given a surprise chance to impress having not played for Mourinho since he returned as manager in 2013.
