Chelsea maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League and extended Tottenham’s miserable record at Stamford Bridge with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Spurs had not won here in 27 games dating back to 1990 but threatened to finally end that run in a bright opening which saw striker Harry Kane hit the crossbar after fine work on the right wing by Aaron Lennon.

Chelsea were without the suspended Diego Costa - who has netted all 11 of his goals in the League this season - but remained clinical in the final third as Eden Hazard handed the home side a 19th minute lead after a fine one-two with Didier Drogba.

Hazard found Oscar who in turn fed Drogba to score his fifth goal in ten matches. Spurs tried to find a way back into the match with Kane industrious throughout but Chelsea striker Loic Remy replaced Drogba midway through the second half and struck a late third to keep the Blues clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Chelsea will be without Nemanja Matic for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle after the midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season.
