Jan Vertonghen is expected to return to the Tottenham starting XI for Wednesday’s must-win clash against Inter Milan.

Vertonghen has missed the club’s nine matches as a result of a hamstring injury suffered in a Premier League win over Huddersfield back in September.

His return is a timely one with Spurs needing to beat Inter in order to keep their Champions League hopes alive – with a short trip to Arsenal looming on Sunday.

Lucas Moura is poised to return to the starting XI, replacing Son Heung-min in attack.

The South Korean could join Christian Eriksen on the bench ahead of that crucial north London derby, with Harry Winks coming in to join Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko in midfield.
