Champions League last 16 draw: Date, time, teams, format and TV coverage

Arsenal won their Champions League group for the first time in five years with victory over FC Basel at St. Jakob-Park on Tuesday.

The Gunners increased their chances of avoiding Europe's heavyweights by leapfrogging PSG on the final matchday and now have the advantage of hosting the return leg in the first of the knockout stages.

However, Arsene Wenger will be keep to avoid Real Madrid, while he'll be wary of a possible last-16 meeting with Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants have ended Arsenal's Champions League campaign at the same stage in two of the last five seasons and are again in Wenger's line of fire.

When and where is the draw?

The draw will take place in Nyon on December 12. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 11:00 UK time.

How can I watch the draw?

The draw will be shown live on BT Sport and streamed live on UEFA's official website. Alternatively, you can follow all of the action on Standard Sport's blog.

Format

Group winners and group runners-up will be placed into separate pots and drawn against one another. Sides which qualified from the same group can't meet in the last-16, while clubs from the same nation/asspciation can't be drawn against each other at this stage.

Group runners-up will play at home in the first leg, with group winners at home in the return fixture.
