Felix Magath handed a first Fulham start to record signing Kostas Mitroglou in a bid to leapfrog Cardiff at the foot of the Barclays Premier League.

Fitness issues meant the Greek forward, who netted 21 goals in 24 games for Olympiacos this season, had played just 30 minutes of football before replacing Darren Bent in the starting line-up.

Another shock inclusion iwas forward Cauley Woodrow, back from a loan spell at League Two Southend, who has been handed his debut while there were also recalls for Lewis Holtby and John Arne Riise in a much-changed Fulham side missing knee injury victim Scott Parker.

Without a goal in 399 minutes of Barclays Premier League football, Cardiff handed a start to Kenwyne Jones and recalled Craig Noone, and Jordan Mutch, the matchwinner when the sides last met in September.

Cardiff: Marshall, Da Silva, Caulker, Turner, John, Medel, Noone, Mutch, Kim, Campbell, Jones. Subs: Eikrem, Cala, Theophile-Catherine, Daehli, Lewis, Zaha, Bellamy.

Fulham: Stekelenburg, Riether, Heitinga, Hangeland, Riise, Dejagah, Sidwell, Holtby, Richardson, Mitroglou, Woodrow. Subs: Kvist Jorgensen, Kacaniklic, Stockdale, Karagounis, Zverotic, Burn, Bent.
