Burnley 3-0 West Ham: Roberto nightmare heaps pressure on Manuel Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini is under huge pressure after a disastrous 3-0 defeat at Burnley leaves West Ham winless in seven matches.

Standing in for injured No.1 goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, Roberto endured another torrid afternoon in the West Ham goal as the Spaniard played a role in all three of Burnley's goals - the latter an embarrassing flap as he punched the ball into his own net.

The abject result heaps pressure on Pellegrini ahead of the international break, with the Chilean coach now surely in danger of his future at the club being debated by the board at the very least.

Ashley Barnes gave the hosts an 11th-minute lead, poking home after a corner from Ashley Westwood was headed back across goal by James Tarkowski.

Sean Dyche's side thought they had doubled their advantage through Chris Wood nine minutes before half-time: Wood headed home a superb cross from Dwight McNeil but the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside.

However, Burnley did double their lead in the 42nd minute when McNeil again found Wood to smash home.

It was a disastrous half for West Ham as they also lost captain Mark Noble to an ankle injury, and the second half wasn't any better as Roberto punched Ashley Westwood's corner into his own net not long after the restart.

West Ham's day was compounded by a late injury to Manuel Lanzini, with the playmaker needing oxygen for a suspected shoulder problem.
