Australia vs Denmark lineup: Starting XIs, confirmed team news and injury latest for World Cup 2022 today

Australia and Denmark can both pick strong line-ups for today’s decisive World Cup match.

After sealing their first victory on the biggest stage of them all in 12 years against Tunisia, the Socceroos could seal safe passage into the next round with three points.

As ever, a lot will be asked on veterans Aaron Mooy and Mat Ryan, as well as the impressive Harry Souttar and Mitchell Duke.

Given the resolute way in which they defended against the Tunisians, Australia coach Graham Arnold is not expected to make many changes.

That is even if Nathaniel Atkinson is back to compete for the right-back spot after injury. Martin Boyle (knee) remains out.

For the Danes, a rapid-fire improvement on the goal front is needed. Despite boasting a hugely talented team, they have found the back of the net only once, through defender Andreas Christensen.

With that in mind, perhaps it could be time to deploy Martin Braithwaite alongside Kasper Dolberg up front.

Thomas Delaney (knee) is out for the tournament.

Starting Australia XI: Ryan; Degene, Souttar, Rowles, Behic; Mooy, Irvine, McGree; Leckie, Duke, Goodwin

Predicted Denmark XI: Schmeichel; Andersen, Christensen, Maehle; Kristensen, Hojberg, Eriksen, Jensen; Skov Olsen, Lindstram, Braithwaite
